Wednesday, May 15, cont'd

Well, I forgot my water resolution last night and indulged in a beautiful rose wine. Again, this am the bloody church bells were clanging, but the antioxidants of the wine did balance the blue cheese that I consumed!!!!!

We had a gorgeous breakfast in the hotel restaurant overlooking the valley. Garfield, the housecat has taken a shine to me. He is a beautiful tabby and hides under my chair. I don't think that he ia allowed in the restaurant! Both Peter and I then prepared for biking! Peter is in the intermediate group and rode this beautiful gorge today, 60 kms. I was in the beginner, cappucino, group, and lugged my arse through 30 kms of flat land, except at the end...the hotel is on a mountain. I walked it. I was last in my group of beginners, but happy to have completed it.

Peter's group met this old guy in camoflauge clothing, who asked where the Canadians were from. He had a US accent. He owned stocks in grains and had moved to Provence. They were quite surprised especially since one of the group was a grain buyer. The monsieur then spoke flawless french to the guides!!!!

The evening had a truffle theme, with wine pairing.  Truffles are mushrooms that are considered a delicacy. Pigs are especially adept to finding these mushrooms. Our meal began with a truffle infused asparagus amuse-bouche, followed by truffled foie-gras...truly exotic, and for me, palate challenging and delicious. We then ate truffle infused cod, followed by a truffled veal....man-oh man...kraft dinner won't taste as good for a while...but I love Kraft dinner  but maybe with Dijon Ketchup!!!!!!

After this, and a shaky walk up stone steps, we were serenaded by Ed Robertson and Luke Doucet until midnight!!! Pinch me, please!!!!!!! Luke sang a song about this young transsexual that had tragically died. Ed sang a song, that he has not yet recorded. He also sang from his new album release for June 4th. He also sang the song from the show, "The Big Bang Theory", which he also wrote.
